The Future of Cardinal Quest - Classic and Deluxe.

Hi,
we've got a ton of feedback after the cardinal quest free-day and the subsequent pay-as-you-wish day: both huge successes that I will talk more about shortly!

The most significant change to the game's direction tho is that the format is changing from free 3-levels demo and payed full version to Minecraft-style free Classic edition and payed Deluxe edition!

The upcoming Cardinal Quest Deluxe will be a ton better, including 3 new character classes and ~50% more content in terms of monsters, spells, items, weapon, etc..

Most importantly - everyone who bought or will buy the current full version of Cardinal Quest will get Cardinal Quest Deluxe for free!

Have fun and check out the now-free Cardinal Quest Classic,
-Ido.

  1. Awesome news! I love it when games I buy get huge updates at no additional cost to me.

  2. Congratulations on the game launch. I'm enjoying it but both times I've played the game has crashed, the first time on level 3 and the second time on level... 5 I think? I got the game while it was free so I'm not too bothered! All the best.

  3. Those crashes were fixed in the latest version Damian.

I messed up with the BMT setup (fixed now), but you can email me and I will get you up-to-date links (that will remain updated).

  4. Will you be adding a save game feature and/or some sort of in-game high score? The game is quite fun as it is but the lack of saving or at the very least, a high score table in game makes me come back to it less.

Some traps would be a nice feature too.

Gamepad support would also be cool.

  5. Don't think I'll add gamepad support (don't own one), but the rest are going in!

  6. This game is great! Very good gameplay and the feeling when you move with the sound effect i love it!

I'm playing the 1.1c version on PC, i have a lot of bugs with the wizard when i try to change the spell in the slots. I take one spell out, but it only remove the icon, the shortcut is still effective so i can't replace it. Once the icon remain in the middle of the main screen :S

The wizard is my favorite so far.
I also would want a way to save.
Or have death with penalty (demon's souls?)
    And an Android/mobile version :D

I hope i am clear enough as i'm not english.

  7. What I want to know is, why should I pay for this when I could play Stone Soup for free?

  8. Disst: why would you play DCSS when you can play OpenTTD for free?

It's a really good game, you should check it out.

  9. Disst: By that logic, why should any of us pay for any games? There are free games in every genre. But regardless, the game is awesome! I mean, it is fun, and that seems like a pretty good reason to me. Additionally, if you like roguelikes, supporting the few commercial ones is always a good idea, as it leads to more commercial ones. Which is great for everyone.
